Boggs entre los años 1942 y 1953. Algunos resultados preliminares se publicaron como artículos en apéndices y revistas, no obstante, el informe final de la investigación arqueológica, a pesar de ser tan larga, no se presentó al público.\nActualmente Tazumal es un icono del Patrimonio Cultural de El Salvador, sin embargo, al momento de iniciar la investigación éste presentaba dificultad al tratar de comprender el desarrollo del complejo arquitectónico, ya que en la estructura restaurada se encuentran expuestas diversas fases constructivas correspondientes a diferentes períodos.\nLos métodos de interpretación sobre el desarrollo del complejo arquitectónico en Tazumal consisten en la revisión de las fotos antiguas tomadas por Boggs durante el tiempo de las investigaciones arqueológicas realizadas entre os años 1942 y 1953. Al mismo tiempo se reconfirmaron in situ las huellas arquitectónicas originales o restauradas de las estructuras de diferentes etapas constructivas.
