国交切り替え後の中国によるアプローチ： ニカラグア・ホンジュラスの比較 Contrasts between China’s approach to Nicaragua and Honduras after the switch in diplomatic relations 浜端, 喬 ハマバタ, タカシ HAMABATA, Takashi 浜端 ハマバタ HAMABATA 喬 タカシ Takashi 中米 ニカラグア ホンジュラス 中国 左派政権 This paper focuses on China's approach to Nicaragua and Honduras who have both decided to form diplomatic elations with them and move away from relations with Taiwan. It explores the differences between the two countries from an economic, diplomatic, cultural and security perspective. From all of these perspectives, China has had a positive approach toward the Ortega regime which shares its own political and ideological predilection for strong-arm rule and an anti-American spirit. A further strengthening and development of bilateral relations is thus expected in the future. This is not only because of the Ortega regime's iplomatic strategy, which is desirable for China, but also because of the anti-Chinese public sentiment. By contrast, the diplomatic relationship with Honduras is still in its early days and it would seem that China prefers to develop this relationship in a more measured gradual fashion owing to the uncertainties of Honduras' new foreign policy and its historical background as a pro-U.S. nation. One point that has became clear throughout the research is the precision of Chinese strategy.
